Consider the Lilys

Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
If God so clothe the grass, which is today in the field, and tomorrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, oh ye of little faith? Luke 12:27,28

The Keets and Their Mamas

Nothing cuter than a keet.
2 day old keets with the hens Shy ( black) and Peeper (white) Peeper is telling the little on closest to eat the boiled egg yolk she has.

They are asking me, "What are you doing?"

I've got guinea keets hatching!  5 of them have hatched so far and there are 14 eggs. There are also 2 pheasant eggs that should hatch too. I have them divided between 2 silkie hens so each hen has 8 eggs.

Guinea keet, just hatched today.

Same keet, closer view. See the little whiteish point on the end of its beak? That is the egg tooth, they use it to break out of the egg.   Their legs are as bright orange as there beak, and 2 keets together are about as big as a golf ball.

These are the pictures from when they were 2 weeks old.

My Tiny Miracle at one week.

My gray frizzle silkie cross.

The bigger polish.

Polish silkie cross 1.

full silkie

the smaller polish,   yeah, it's not such a pretty chick right now, but it still has some growing to do.

Sizzle.  This one is beautiful. You can get sizzles from crosing silkies and frizzled cochins, but not all your chicks will be sizzles, only some. I got 2 out of 3. A sizzle has to be 5 toed, black skined, and pea combed, like a silkie, but also have frizzled feathers (not the furry ones) like  the cochin.

same chick as above, I love those stripes.
